This little photoshoot was so much fun... two little friends spending the day together. It could have been tinged with a little sadness. One of the girls is moving away.
Saucy couldn't help but remember when her bff from across the street, Marcy, moved away at about the same age. She wishes someone had taken their picture together before Marcy left town. That was a long time ago. There was no Facebook, no email, no instant messaging. It was harder to keep the promise to write every day.
Saucy has a pretty strong hunch these two will stick it out and truly be best friends forever.
Saucy still keeps in touch with her best friend from elementary school. She's not even going to tell you how many years it's been but she had the chance to photograph her daughters recently, too.
Saucy couldn't resist taking a few pictures of the littlest Adorable by herself. She and Saucy share a special bond over cupcakes and sweets. Extra special. They just get each other.
Just look into those sparkling eyes!
Big brother was along for the ride so he got roped into a photograph, too.
It may seem odd to take friendship photos in a concrete alley, but Woodrow Wilson said "friendship is the only cement that will ever hold the world together."
"The only thing to do is to hug one's friends tightly and do one's job." (Edith Wharton)
"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends." (Richard Bach)
Reader, who was your best friend when you were eight? Are you still in touch?
