so many cupcakes

... so little time. The Cheerios had one last cupcake sale at the mall a day or two before Christmas.

And really, Saucy means it. We just ran out of time. This is how many cupcakes thirteen people can make in twelve hours. It's about 800. We tried for 1000 but had to power down and pack them up for selling the next morning.

There were twenty flavours again. It gives customers a nice variety and you sell more, because people are prone to take an assortment of six or twelve. If you only have a couple of flavours, you might only sell a couple of cupcakes at a time.

Can you believe it... it's been so busy, Saucy is just posting this cupcake biznitch now. In January. Gah.

This was a special flavour for the day... Chips and Coke. The cake batter was made with Coca-cola and the chocolate buttercream was topped with two chocolate dipped ripple chips. The salty/sweet combination was a hit. We could have sold 100 of these.

Mike and Ikes

Orange Creamsicle

We kept mint lovers happy by offering both Grasshoppers and Peppermint Bark topped cupcakes.

The Eggnog cupcakes had eggnog in the batter and the frosting and they were topped with miniature gingerbread cookies. So incredibly cute.

Boots decorated each teddy bear cookie with a candy heart. These vanilla cupcakes had red and green funfetti inside.

White Chocolate Peppermint Bark

Dark Chocolate Peppermint Bark

Rainbow Chips Ahoy

The Gingerbread cupcakes were topped with mini gingerbread men again but look... the sprinkles are tiny gingerbread men too!

Hamburger Specials

Orange Cranberry

These were "Funky Monkeys"... chocolate banana cake with chocolate buttercream, mini chocolate chips and a banana chip.

That's it for Cheerio cupcake sales this season. Probably. Maybe. Hopefully. Saucy is confident the team has enough money to travel and buy some cool stuff.

Saucy wants to thank her wonderful local followers who have supported the cupcake sales... you've been terrific. The Cheerios will still take orders for birthday parties and events until the end of March. You know how to reach Saucy if you need to (see sidebar).

I would love to read more about how you pull this amazing stunt off -- do you make the 20 batters beforehand, do you use the bakery boxes and inserts, do you have to refrigerate all these overnight, so you provide bakery boxes for these people who might want 6 or 12? I love reading about these sales. P.S. I live thousands of miles away and barely bake -- no competition here.

I am always amazed at how much work goes into your bake sales and at how much the young women must learn by being a member of this wonderful team. Whatever will you do when your daughter moves along past this school? I have all the same questions as your other commenter.

Why don't I do a little post about our cupcaking system? I don't mind sharing my tips with you. I'll post it right after the Golden Globe fashion review!

Since you're planning to do a post, don't forget to mention where you acquire all the decorations for the top -- hamburgers, etc. Is it Michael's, a cake decorating store, candy store? Spill it, please. Plus, are all these combinations your invention? They are fabulous! I am dying to try a coke and chips cupcake. You never cease to amaze me or make me laugh.

I think we are all dying for your "cupcake bake sale tutorial" so we know how you pull this monumental feat off. It staggers the mind.
