These are so easy to cook and have a secret ingredient - grape jelly!
For the meatballs, mix the following ingredients in a medium bowl. Shape into 1 inch (2.5 cm) balls.
Lean ground beef 1 1/2 lbs (680 g)
Envelope dry onion soup mix 1 x 1.4 oz
Large egg 1
Ketchup 1/4 cup (60 mL)
Fine dry bread crumbs 1/3 cup (75 mL)
Poultry seasoning just a pinch
Parsley flakes 1/4 tsp (1 mL)
Grape jelly 1 1/2 cups (375 mL)
Ketchup 3/4 cup (175 mL)
Lemon juice to taste
Heat jelly and ketchup in frying pan until hot. Stir in lemon juice. Add meatballs. Stir gently to coat. Simmer, covered, for 20 to 25 minutes. Turn into chafing dish. Serve warm with skewers or picks. Makes 60.
Popped popcorn 4 cups
Melted butter 1/4 cup
Cheddar cheese powder 1/4 cup plus one tablespoon
Mustard powder 1/4 teaspoon
Cayenne pepper 1/8 teaspoon
Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup
Salt and pepper to taste
In the largest mixing bowl you have, drizzle melted butter over popped corn and toss quickly. Mix the cheddar cheese powder, mustard powder, and cayenne pepper and toss over buttered corn. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Adding the parmesan cheese is optional, but it's really nice. You can use the dried type from the grocer or better yet, use real parmesan, finely shredded. Serve immediately!
Also on the menu (but you won't the need recipes for) fully loaded nachos and Saucy's Not-So-Secret Chicken Fingers (recipe here).
When The Superbowl is over, Saucy has a wild story to tell you. Really wild. It will explain her absence of late and probably even freak you out a bit.
Do you still want to hear it, even though your mind will be blown?
