When it was time to redo Loopy's bathroom, she and Saucy sort of compromised. By compromise, Saucy means, they did it mostly her way.
Loopy wanted a bathroom like Hannah Montana's television bathroom: lime green beadboard with turquoise walls, a black and white damask shower curtain, and a sparkling light fixture. Her scheme also included a hot pink shaggy toilet seat cover.
Luckily, those aren't easy to come by.
Saucy wanted... white. White beadboard with white walls and white subway tiles with off white crown moulding and very white towels. She thought this would be nice and dramatic with the dark wood floor and vanity.
The compromise was to paint the beadboard brown and the walls pink and brown. It looked like something Saucy saw at a Juicy Couture outlet. This way, Loopy had colour on the wall and Saucy could live with it when she looked upstairs into the room.
So it began... with jars of candies on the countertop.
They agreed on the basics: crown moulding, white subway tile and a sparkly light fixture overhead. The chimney was removed through the roof making a larger floor plan once part of the wall was cut back.
This wall decal was found at Winners on sale for just five dollars. Nobody else wanted it, but it was perfect for Loopy's bathroom.
The tiny marble top table was a flea market find and nestled perfectly in the corner. It holds a Juicy Couture scented candle, some cologne for after the bath, and a Juicy teacup for tossing earrings and hair clips into so they don't get scattered all over the place.
So the beadboard... and the waste basket... were painted chocolate brown. It looks pretty cute, but it's not white. Maybe next time. Wouldn't that little marble table look fab surrounded by white fluffy towels and topped with fresh white flowers?
