I catered the cupcake buffet for my friend Leica's Saskatchewan Scraps crop event this weekend. It doesn't look like there are 160 cupcakes on this table, but there are!

Loopy and I took in New Moon with our friends Jenn, Karen and Georgina on the weekend! Before I tell you what I thought, I need to know: Team Edward?

Strawberry sponge cake with buttercream frosting. It was a new flavour for me.

My signature chocolate with pink frosting and sprinkles! Just like my banner. Lurrve.

Red velvet with golden buttercream frosting. Thank you to Miss Karen for providing extra frosting for this venture... it was needed!

S'mores cupcakes: these ones were gone first, I wonder why?

Classic red velvet with vanilla buttercream. These were the only "holiday" decorated cupcakes on the table.

Soft pink buttercream frosting... I used a food spray to get the delicate effect.

There's nothing as pretty as a table of assorted cupcakes, do you agree? Leica threw an amazing event, all of the scrappers had a great time - it was exhausting and exhilarating all at the same time. I also took new necklace and bracelet designs to the event on Saturday. What is left will be in my Etsy later this week, just in time for Christmas shipping.

Loopy and I took in New Moon with our friends Jenn, Karen and Georgina on the weekend! Before I tell you what I thought, I need to know: Team Edward?

Or Team Jacob? Loopy and I are Team Jacob... we aren't into the emaciated, romantic, blood-drinking type. We decided after the show that we both like the mysterious, loyal werewolf types. What can I tell you? We're dog people.
New Moon was so much better than Twilight. Obviously they had more money for production and special effects this time around. It ran for two hours and I didn't once ask Loopy if it was over yet, like I did when we watched Twilight. The best part was sitting next to Karen and sharing a running commentary about the shirtless werewolves and vampires.
Oh, and taking a nice comfy chair out of the dollhouse for Little Ed, and a Coke in case he got, uh, thirsty. That part was fun, too.

New Moon gets four out of five cupcakes from the buffet table. Two cupcakes for the acting, but two bonus cupcakes for the shirtless beefcake.

Hey, I'm just being honest.

The cupcakes look delicious. My first choice would be the double chocolate lovelies at the end of the post. Those were lucky ladies who had such an amazing selection of goodies.
the wolfpack could only be better if they were holding cupcakes while shirtless
Your cupcakes were AMAZING this weekend. So much fun to see you, but some jewelry and I wanted to taste every single one of your flavours!! I chose the s'mores, and was NOT disappointed. So yummy! I saw New Moon on Thursday night, and agree with you, it was much better than Twighlight. I'm not really into pasty boys, but am into shirtless werewolves. Totally Team Jacob. Dena
Two other moms and I went to see New Moon before we decided if our daughters would go and see it (yep, we're screeners) and we *loved* the audience reactions: girls (and moms!) gasped at the first "Wow, *that's* Jacob" scene; older guys whispering "Here doggy, here doggy" when the wolves made their appearance...and our favorite: the boys sitting behind us saying "Oh, *that's* how you do it" during a smooch scene. No, they weren't being sarcastic- they treated the movie like a TUTORIAL!
I completely agree- the next Twilight installment needs to have careful cupcake (as well as beefcake) product placement- they were close with the giant muffins, but not close enough.

The cupcake buffet looks AMAZING! I haven't seen New Moon yet but I gotta say Team Edward. ;)
You could say we are screeners too, Jenn and Karen saw it on Friday afternoon before Georgina and Loopy... hey... did they screen it for me?
Now I just wanna cupcake! :)
A cupcake buffet, what could be more delicious? I wish I had been at this crop. Guess I would have been at the buffet rather than cropping.
Happy Holidays ~ Sarah
I think I would be a Jacob team member too... he has some yummy muscles =P... if he was holding a cupcake not sure what I would want to taste first....sorry thinking out loud =)
thanks for the super cupcakes that day.
The buffet looks amazing!! I'm sure the ladies were thrilled with their little cakes!
I saW those smores but unfortunately they were gone by the time I was done my class and ready to have lunch!! Oh well, myabe next time. I was on Jacob's team already in twilight, and I wasn't all that impressed with twilight either. I went with my dd because nobody else would go with her. I bet she can get someone for new moon though!! (sigh) I may have to go by myself now.
That table looks amazing ~ I know your a veteran at it by now but I can appreciate all the hard work that STILL goes into it to get it DONE!
well Miss Saucy,
huge {HUGS} & {THANKS} for making the Sask Scraps event the best one yet! I adore you as a friend, but feel so absolutely on a high after spending time with you. You always add neat touches to everything making everyone feel like they are a queen, your take on things are always educated and funny even if opinionated and I thrive for these moments I can spend with you. I want you to know how much I appreciate all the work you did creating cupcakes for my event. Absolutely outstanding! look forward to our charm party this weekend. love it! (ps, I'm stealing some of these photos, teehee for my blog)
Looks like the scrapathon was an event not to be missed! The cupcakes look yummy! Looking forward to seeing those new necklaces!
I think I'll pass on the other cakes from the movie. I just hope that it passes before K and N get to the age of wanting to watch them too!
Like I said before, this was my first time tasting your cupcakes (can you believe it?) I was not disappointed---so, so, so much better than the one I had on Sunday. I have to start making these for the kids--they will love, love, love them!
They look just SCRUMP.DILLY.ICIOUS!!!! ........
*almost too pretty to eat :)
Team Jacob. Felt that way when I read the book, although I eventually went to the other side.
Such nice accomodations for little Ed. All he needed was one of those fabulous cupcakes-- in mini, of course!
Oh Sasha, the last pic are those DELISH chocolate-chocolate cuppies that I savored all the way home. You did a fantastic job! See you this Sunday.
Your buffet looks devine. You out did yourself. I just took 13 13 year-olds to New Moon over the weekend for my daugther's birthday party. We are definitely Team Jacob. What a hunk!
CUPCAKES -- Super YUMM!! I'd have to have you make bite-sized ones so I could try every flavor. Beautiful work!
NEW MOON -- TEAM EDWARD all the way!! I love men who *SPARKLE*, are romantic and have MONEY!! ;-)
xoxo, Lisa
tell me more about those lemon cupcakes! have you ever made a lemon filling? mix it with cream cheese frosting? if you haven't, you MUST! everything looks SO marvelous!!! i'm am borrowing some of those ideas!
~Jen
Cupcakes and beefcake--you created the perfect post, Saucy!
Perfect display of cupcakes;o) The smores are my favorite! Think I'm gonna go roast some marshmallows now;o)
I'm Team Edward, but based on the books, not the movies. But I could see the appeal of Team Jacob after this movie. There was a collective gasp in our theater when Jacob took off his shirt. It was hilarious.
As always Saucy, the table looks amazing. What a lot of work! Good job...
Team Edward all the way!
Two votes for Team Edward...Bella says it best "it's always been Edward!". Ahhh to be 17 again, although I never did have Bella's problem!!! I agree about audience reactions, lots of gasping and giggles.
Where can we get our mini Edwards???
Shannon
Mmmmmmm...yum, yum, yum. If I would have been there, I would have gotten zero scrapping done -- I would have made repeat trips to the cupcake buffet!
wow the buffet looks beyond delicious - what word could cover that??
I have come around a bit to the twilight series - I did enjoy the books but am gearing up to see the movies. mice and vampires really creep me out - am okay with werewolves - go figure
Stopped by to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving if I'm not able to visit before Thursday! A bounty of blessings for you and your family Saucy.
WOW Saucy, all of those cupcake look AMAZING!! (check out the ones on my blog I just made http://tidymomof2.blogspot.com/2009/11/vanilla-pumpkin-cupcakes-w-cinnamon.html
We enjoyed New Moon as well! Although I need to go again, we saw the midnight show and I was a bit too sleepy during the last 1/2 of the movie! LOL

I love me some honesty, it is just about as tasty as those cupcakes! You know that you amaze me, and once yet, again you have outdone yourself. I am sure that your friends were very appreciative. You did a fantastic job, my dear. Congratulations.
Love,
Angela
You are a cupcake MANIAC! The display look phenomenal. Congrats!
definately 100% team jacob
Those cupcakes look scrumptious, my friend. Some needs to invent a more elegant and unique word for such gorgeous cupcakes don't you think? :)
Wow nice cake cup, Really looks very beautiful and attractive. Thanks for recipe...

Be still my cupcake heart.
What icing tip do you use? Your frosting looks perfect!
Most of the time I use the classic Wilton 1A tip in a very large bag. It is very forgiving and easy to turn with, it makes nice patterns and has good deep grooves for sprinkles to land in.
Check my cupcake tutorial in my sidebar for more instructions for frosting little cakes.
Team Edward. Guess I'm just not a dog person! ;-) Your cupcakes are beautiful!
Team Jacob all the way! I love your cupcake commentary, had a good laugh!
Your cupcakes are the yummiest looking cupcakes I have ever seen. You have excellent taste in all things. I love your blog!
