Before Loopy and I reveal the cupcakes we've been planning since forever... congratulations Trace Geworsky, the winner of our CSN Rugs area rug giveaway. Trace, shoot me an email(address in the sidebar) and let's get you "hooked up"... sorry... rug humour. could. not. resist.
And now... drumroll for... a talented trio of cakes... Jonas cupcakes!

The Nick cupcake is a sugar free red velvet with a low carb frosting. With this recipe, diabetic Nick can enjoy sweet baked goods without worrying too much about his glucose levels. We topped this stud muffin with a fresh blueberry.

In honour of his engagement, the Kevin cupcake is a dark chocolate tuxedo cake filled with whipped cream and decorated with a top hat and bow tie. We got a little carried away and made a white vanilla bride cake with something blue frosting and I let her wear my ring for her photograph.
The Joe cupcake: tall, dark and intense chocolate. Unfortunately, the real Joe is a bit clumsy so we made hard crack candy "glass" for this poor cupcake to take a tumble in. This cupcake lives up to Joe's nickname, Danger.
Don't worry, Danger didn't suffer for too long. Loopy smothered him with kisses and he felt better fast:

OMG I LOVE IT! I love the cracked glass and that Kevin got the tuxedo. Soooo cute you guys <3
Congratulations Tracee. Thanks Saucy for a great giveaway. Ohh I love the cupcake with the kisses. Did you make the crackle glass too?
Sooo cute! I knew Loopy would have something special for her future-husband-cupcake... those kisses are too cute!
The kiss cupcake would be so cute for Valentine's Day! Where did you get those sprinkles?
Yes Karen, I did make the crackled candy "glass" too, there is a link to the classic hard crack candy recipe that I used. After it hardened, we put it in a ziploc bag and put it into the freezer for a few minutes to make sure it was brittle. Loopy tossed it onto the cement stone patio and it broke into perfect shards!
Carmen, the lip sprinkles were from a Valentine assortment I found at my local bulk food warehouse. Here is the link to the brand:

Or try this link too, I might order some of these:

Those are wonderful!!!!
I think everyone needs to know what kind of cupcake they are.
Your Pal,
Linda
Awesome, and they look so yummy
You are the master at cupcakes!!
Today looks like a good baking day... ours will only be cookies and muffins for the lake!
Saucy, those cupcakes are fantastic. I still think you should be working on a cupcake book.
Congratulations Tracee on being the magic number.
Hugs Karen
Those cupcakes look fabulous! So creative you girls are :)
They look good enough to eat! Cupcakes not the brothers. I made the mistake of wondering aloud the appeal of Nick and was verbally attacked by my DD. Told me she could provide a multitude of support. I guess I'm more the bad boy type.
Love the cupcakes - the level of detail is superb as always. Are you watching The Bachelorette? I would love to see your take on the final 4.
OMG! Those are too cool! You are CRAZY TALENTED!!!! And I'm proud to say that I finally know which Jonas is which!
Hmmm it makes me wonder what kind of cupcake I would be... or my hubby... hey this would be an awesome blog challenge!
you seriously need your own show!!
I read on your Twitter update you are going to see Green Day, so what kind of cupcakes would they be?
Consider this a challenge.
Those are cute! So cute! And they look really yummy too!!! I wish I could reach into my computer and pick one up!
Camille
Too yummy! love the Dangerous one ;)
I always gain weight when I visit your blog, Saucy... *sigh*
Great job on the cupcakes once again! Very cute!!!
I love those, they are so cute! Thanks for posting the link to the Nick cupcake, my friend's little boy was just diagnosed with diabetes and I would love to have some homemade goodness for him here.
I love your bride and groom cupcakes. Where did you find the top hat and bow tie as I'd love to buy some for a friends upcoming wedding..?
I just found your blog from Cupcakes take the cake, and just wanted to tell you how great those cupcakes look. I love the engagement cuppies. So cute!
Good question! The groom decorations were a set of stickers from Jolee's Boutique, Loopy and I found them in the markdown bin at Wal Mart and I put the top hat sticker on a toothpick and stuck it on top of the cake and just pushed the little bowtie sticker into the frosting.
Those stickers would be expensive to do for a wedding but you could make paper top hats out of cardstock and put them on toothpicks, for the bow tie you could just tie some ribbon.
I used one of my own rings for the bride topper but you could use fake toy rings sold by the bag at the dollar store or the wedding craft section! Good luck.
Send a photo if you end up making these for your friend and I will post it!
Because I have some friends w/a diabetic child - and my DH is diabetic I have a soft spot for Nick Jonas (plus he's just a darn cute kid - though my 6y/o and 5y/o girls love Joe the most). I love that you made him a sugar-free cuppie w/low-carb frosting. Yay! It looks yummy! The others look delicious, too. And I love the broken glass/covered in kisses cuppie. Cute, cute! :)
okay, that is AWESOME and HYSTERICAL. you two make such a creative team. uber impressed!
Sugar Free and Low Carb... now that's something I could definatly sink my teeth into !
OMG these are amazing! And, ironically, I love the Jonas Brothers - AND CUPCAKES!! (: is there a recipe for Nick's cupcake? I would love to make them sometime. (:
thanks for these, Saucy!!
Awesome! All of them look so delicious. Thanks for sharing with us.
