welcome to cupcake saturday!

She stitched this little guy in home economics class for the sewing portion of the course. She liked the pattern so much she is planning on making him some friends over summer vacation.

For my Virtual Cupcake Saturday contribution, I made Bakerella's Cupcake Pops! In Loopy's school colours, for a graduation party on Saturday night. I made fifty of them.

They were time-consuming but worth it. Moist and delicious and super-super cute! Especially dressed up like that to go to a party.

This is just a gratuitous shot of the burn on my finger from making candy this week! Hot! Hot! Hot! Ouch. It doesn't hurt anymore but it is in my way.

All ready to go to the party with Loopy! Have fun, little cupcake pops!

I borrowed Loopy's new cupcake sneakers for Cupcake Saturday. I like that we have the same size feet now. These cuties are from Payless Shoe Source.

Karen brought me a card to celebrate what should be a national holiday, don't you think? Cupcake Saturday every year!

I made every participant a cupcake necklace.

Supplies all lined up and ready to go.

Gah. Check out the look on my face. Every picture I have of myself teaching, I have a goofy look on my face. All the pictures I have of teaching at high school, universities and conferences, goofy looks! I need to do something about that. Oh, well. Look at our cute cupcakers!

Yes, she is wearing something under that apron!

People who bake cupcakes are happy people!

Special thanks to Jerri-Lea, she did so much work at the event! She washed and organized and wiped and basically did as much as she could do to keep us on schedule and everything running smoothly. Thank you, dear friend.

Military cupcakes frosted and sprinkled, ready for decorative star picks! Another huge thank you to MJ who ran to Michaels in her city and went to the trouble of picking up more of the cupcake papers we needed for this recipe and sent them to me by bus - on the last day before her holiday. She SAVED Cupcake Saturday!

Military cupcakes, embellished with a dog tag and ready to go.

If you are visiting for Virtual Cupcake Saturday, the following bloggers are participating in our day of cupcaking across the internets. Pay them a visit and enjoy all the sugar:

{Swoon}

The following are IRL (in real life) Cupcake Saturday bakers who have blogs... perhaps they will post about our afternoon of mixing, frosting and sprinkling.

Friends, you might not see me for a couple of days. Cupcake Saturday took a lot out of me, and I have a list - a mile long - really - to finish before Loopy's middle school farewell tomorrow night. When I say I was up past midnight working on the slide show... I will say that because The Fan is reading but the rest of you will know I really mean 4:30 a.m. I promise to get it all done and post lots of photos, announce Cupcake Saturday winners and be back with another - and maybe my most fabulous - no kidding - giveaway later this week!

Stay tuned.

Oops! I see I can't follow directions and so I posted late :( I'm so sorry!! Hopefully I will get myself more organized and together one of these days!

So sorry I am late - work emergency delayed Cupcake Saturday for me (causing me to use a box mix "with Saucey's tweaking, of course). I don't have a blog, so forgive this long post.

I made "Smores Cupcakes", which is a Michelle adaptation of the Martha Stewart Chocolate Graham Craker cupcake. They turned out super cute (although, since it's so late - they are warm and won't get their marshmallow icing till tomorrow). It's a bit labor intensive, made in steps.

Here is a link to my pictures - sorry if they are out of order

Hope fun was had by all - thanks for inspiring me to try a new recipe

Hey there...I had a excellent time today! Thanks again for hosting such a fantastic event! Turns out I do have a blog, Saucy...it's just very very very neglected (and I'm ashamed to even mention it, but perhaps we can keep in touch that way if I promise to update it a little more often)!

I got a sugar-high looking at all the candy & cupcakes. I almost called up a cupcake demand last evening as we crashed at Mom's when our B&B was rained out.

I'm very tempted to scan a photo of you camping circa Grade 2 Brownies camp. I think this is worth a couple of cupcakes from you (as ransom).

SAUCY! I have a very unrelated-to-your-post message for you: They have a Jonas Brothers singing ornament from Hallmark this year... LOOK:

I saw it and I thought of you and Loopy.

YIkes!

I just wanted to let all of you know that we wrapped up the graduation party at 12:00 midnight sharp and we packed up, paid our bill and drove away by 12:15. Of course, Pepper and I had to do a quick gossip/debrief in the car outside with the girls and by the time we unloaded and I put away just the things that needed to be put away, it is 1:15 and I am either exhausted or jacked up on sugar, but I don't know if I can sleep! See you tomorrow sometime, with pictures.

I like your blog a lot but don't know if I can come here again...it makes me crave sweets. Lots and lots of sweets!

I would love to know how to make those cupcake pops or if you know where I can get a recipe. I love them and they would make cute treats for birthday parties, halloween, etc! I was also wondering if you are going to have another cupcake Sat? I wanted to go so bad but it was my husband's birthday on Friday and Father's day on Sunday, so we went out of town, to do what he wanted to do. It looks like so much fun and I need tips on making cupcakes because with a 3 year old and a one year daughters it looks like I'm in for many years of cupcake making!
Thanks
Tara

Saucy, if you lurrve comments, how come you don't reply to anyone's comments?

Saucy said...

Hey there Lauren!

I get out there and comment like crazy on as many blogs as I can, especially if I see a new commenter on my blog! My peeps can attest to it!

I visited your profile and saw long ago that you just set up a blogger account to make comments on blogs. Cool! I visited your website and it said it was coming soon with updates! Today I checked it again.

I really would never want to offend anyone or leave anyone left out! If the commenter doesn't have a blog sometimes I just leave my reply here in the comment section, hoping they might check back!

I do my best, I really do. I hope you don't feel left out. I will try to do better.
