We saw some sights. Would you like the details? Oftentimes people don't like seeing vacation photos, so I will keep it brief.
We saw some art.
We ate some cupcakes. I did not find a baking supply store, nor did I find a cupcake bakery. These were fresh baked desserts at the Grand Lux Cafe, where you pre-order dessert and it is brought warm to your table when you are finished your entree. Gadzooks, they were soft and fresh and yummy.
Loopy and I had makeovers at the Bobbi Brown counter in Nordstrom:
We had a delightful girls day, including a meetup with our pals Linda and Lulu! Chocolate was enjoyed, gifts were exchanged. Linda was also a winner of a Saucy Saskatchewan lipstick, she was lucky commenter number seven so I was able to deliver her prize in person.
Loopy and I hit the mother ship. I bought myself some happy, but I will share those details another time.
Loopy made Buddy an accomplice to some shenanigans with her stuffed frog, Grins. He was photographed all over the Windy City, in some sticky situations.
Veto treated us like royalty. We went to Second City on Saturday night, followed by drinks and a fashionably late dining experience at Ralph Lauren. Buddy Budderson had us laughing so hard a few eyebrows were raised. Nevahmind!
We managed the touristy bits. The Bean! The Bean! The Bean!
The frog was everywhere...
... everywhere I tell you!
Friday was a perfect day in Wrigleyville... weather-wise. Not a good day for the Cubs. Milton Bradley had an epic fail:
... even Grins hid his head in shame.
The view from our seats on the third base line. I did not get hit by a ball this time.
When we go back to Chicago in December, I will meet you under the clock on State Street.
Loopy and I watched a beautiful couple on their wedding day... try as I might I did not capture her fabulous hot pink satin shoes! Trust me, they were fab.u.lous.
We stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel on Michigan Avenue. Do not stay there, it was another epic fail of Milton Bradley proportions! Back to the Hyatt next time. Stick with what you know.
I lurrve, lurrve, lurrve Chicago. It's my kind of town.
The coolest thing was easily when Air Force One landed at O'Hare this morning as we waited to take off. All air traffic was halted as we watched it land. Marine One was there to meet it and President Obama moved from Air Force One to Marine One and off he went! Hail to the Chief. Time to go home, now we've seen everything.
