Oh, Duke! You're so silly. Of course they were meant for you, and you alone. All these little cakes around here have made you crazy and we didn't give you a single one... and you didn't even try to steal one!
So here is a nice plate of doggie donuts, just for you:
2 cups whole wheat flour
2/3 cup beef broth
1 egg, beaten
3 tablespoons uncooked oatmeal, ground up
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Preheat oven to 400°F
Mix flour, egg and broth well in a large bowl. Add oatmeal and garlic powder. Mix until ingredients are evenly distributed. Roll dough to 1/2" thick on a lightly floured surface.
Cut the dough with a donut shaped cookie cutter or use one large and one small circular cookie cutters to create the donut shapes. Carefully place each donut on a lightly greased or non-stick cookie sheet. Transfer to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake 10-15 minutes. Watch to avoid burning. Remove donuts from oven to harden, or turn off oven and leave donuts in oven to harden. If you choose, allow the donuts to harden in the oven.
For doggie donut icing, melt white chocolate, yogurt chips or carob chips over a double boiler with a tiny splash of vegetable oil. When your cookies are completely cool, spread them with the "icing" and add sprinkles. Honestly, a few sprinkles won't hurt your furry friend. He eats garbage when you're not looking.
