Ever since Loopy made pizza in Home Economics, we've been eating pizza... not quite every day, but since the Jo Bros made their new video (above)... we dig our homemade pizza. Loopy set about making her home ec recipe for Buddy's birthday party:
Dough:
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees
- Dissolve 1 tbsp sugar in one cup hot tap water
- Sprinkle 1 tbsp active dry yeast into the sugar water, set aside
- In a separate bowl, mix 3 cups flour, 1/4 tsp salt and 1/2 cup butter until fine crumbs form
- Lightly beat one egg
- When the yeast mixture has doubled in size, dump it, along with the egg, into the flour mixture
- Stir this mixture together until you have to put your hands into the bowl to bring it together
- Flour a clean counter surface with 1/4 cup flour, plop the dough mixture onto the counter
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic
- Place the dough in a clean bowl that has been lightly coated with olive oil, rubbing some of the excess olive oil on the dough
- Cover the bowl of dough with a clean tea towel and place it on the top of the stove to rise
- Let your dough rise for about 30 minutes
- Cut the dough in half and using your fingers (not a rolling pin) work it into a 12" circle and place it onto a lightly greased pizza pan or a cookie sheet... this recipe makes two 12" pizzas
Finishing your pizza
- Start by covering your shaped dough with pizza sauce
- Add a few handfuls of grated mozzarella cheese
- Add the toppings you like: meat, veggies, shredded cheese, tiny Jonas Brothers
- Finish with good handfuls of mozzarella cheese
- Cover your creation with a tea towel and let it rise on the top of the stove for another 15 minutes
- Place your pizza in the oven and bake it for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown
- Remove from oven and let your pizza cool for about five minutes before slicing and serving

Love pizza. Love the pics - they look so yummy.
I love homemade pizza and my gurlz love making them. I think we'll be trying Loopy's recipe soon. I have also wanted to try "grilled" pizza. Have you ever made any?

I saw that video the other day! It is too cute!!! I thought about you both yesterday when my daughter and I were shopping at Claire's and all the Jonas Bros. stuff was on sale.
I love it! The lasagna recipe that I use (17 years after I first made it) is from my high school home economics class.
My guess is that Loopy will be making this very pizza recipe for her kiddos some day! ;)
Thats it..Im moving in; I could use a little Jonas brothers pizza..I showed my 5 year old the picture of the pizzas, and he said "how come you never make that for me"
Loopy..you are hired..that is awesome!!!!

Ever since I discovered that it takes multiple hours to make homemade pizza in my bread machine, I've abandoned the effort to make homemade pizza dough. Thanks for posting the recipe as I might attempt this one as it takes less time! (I admit to being lazy in looking for a recipe!)
Great job Loopy! A junior Chef in the making!!! That is my favorite meal of choice. I could see why you would be hung on that song.
Katie must now make Pizza!
Saucy (and Loopy),
Give me pizza with a thin crust, not too much sauce and lots of cheese... yum.
However, the REAL reason behind my comment is to talk about the pic of Loopy wearing an apron and surrounded by pizzas. My goodness... she looks GORGEOUS in this pic. (You can see what the adult Loopy will look like!)
I say send it off to her future hubby (Mr. Jonas) - sure to catch his eye... gorgeous girl making homemade pizza! What more could I guy ask for?
Wish I had younger daughters who were into the Jonas Boys just so I could win the tix and hang out with you & Loopy! Alas, my girls are 22 & 25!
great post! I loved the video too! I contacted the band Saucy......lookes like a go for Sprouts day! Thanks so much for the tip! I am having some trouble with poles.....HD does not like to share, any other ideas? I would love to make a bunch (6-7) and do a photo shoot for the Sprouts invite.....what do you think?
sassy
And of course, the Jonas boys are Italian, so pizza is the surest way into their hearts ;)
Oh, and did I mention that Loopy plays a mean bass guitar also...
hehe - as I sit here catching up, I am enjoying my very own ham & pineapple pizza. :) life is good.
Loved the cheesy video, the pics & the recipe. Loopy, you are a splendid little sister to make yummy homemade pizzas for your big brother's birthday.

When I get off my diet, I am trying this recipe!
Nobody will be disappointed with this recipe, it is foolproof! And delicious... and you don't feel greasy and gross when you're done eating it.
