signs of spring

This weekend saw some sure signs of spring... starting with a very sweet random act of kindness.  Even before Jerri-Lea posted this on her blog, I knew this was the handiwork of Super Mom and Cutie Pies.   What a sweet way to usher in a new season!

The next sign of spring was the tackling of spring cleaning... with the snazzy new Deluxe Steam Mop that Loopy and I absolutely had to have when we laid our greedy magpie eyes upon it at the Home Show this weekend.  Veto bought it for us straight away, Loopy promising to clean with it and Veto and I both knowing full well that it was a passing fancy for her, but she did help use it twice already... she appreciates a clean floor just as much as I do.  I must admit, it is a pretty sweet ride for a mop.

The next sign of spring is the appearance of the Easter decor.  Don't eat those jelly beans, I store them in a ziploc and bring them out every year.  They're about four years old.  They were that colour when I bought them and I've never found any that pretty ever again.

Apparently flocked Easter bunnies can get red eye.  Who knew?  Actually it's a little creepy.  They've gotta go.

Help yourself if you want some of these candies, they're fresh.  The little green ones are tic tacs. Man, I lurrve me some tic tacs!

Another sure sign of spring: puppies!  Our friends got not one, but two little basset hounds.  Check out the ears on Sophie (below).  You can't check out much on Oliver (above), he was censored... but he's awful cute in that bed of his.  And we thought Duke was a cute puppy!

Sophie wants to know if spring has arrived at your house.  Let her know.  She's all ears.

I'm so happy to know that it is perfectly acceptable to save candy to decorate with! I'll be filling my apocathy jars with jelly beans and Easter candy!

Spray paint those red-eyed bunnies white and they will look great! Love all the spring decor, and the dogs are adorable too!

Dear Saucy;

Please come visit Texas so we can be festive too. I'll spring for tickets.

Lurve,
The Stiletto Mom

PS: Bring Loopy too, Gracie wants her to babysit. :)

Thanks for the heads up on the jelly beans; I'll ensure never to swipe treats hanging out on tables at your house! Candy would never last the end of the season in my house!

Good morning! I like the sheet music peeking out at the bottom of the items. Makes me think of the Easter Parade song/movie with Judy Garland I think it is? Your decorations are lovely and remind me to change out my winter/romance theme... cupids day is done now.

By the way, those dogs are c-u-t-e! Keep that last picture nearby, he looks like he should be a detective dog, just needs the hat, like Humphrey Bogart or something. :)

I just love Sohphie's ears! Too cute.

I also love the Deluxe Steam Mop... I've been looking for something that will clean hardwood/laminate floor well, without too much fuss. So, is it worth the $?

Make that Sophie's ears & floors, not floor... helps if I could spell this morning!

What pretty Easter decorations. I've been thinking about a steam mop after my friend Donna raved about hers. I don't know if she has the same model that you bought, but now I'm convinced I need to get one right away.

I'm have baggies and baggies of candy in my pantry that I reuse just for my jars. Spring has definitely arrived, but I have not decorated the inside of our house yet. Hopefully . . . next weekend.

Really that steam mop was worth Veto's hard earned money! I lurrve it! I'm hoping that it lasts because we picked it up at the home show and not a store so I don't have a place to return it if something goes wrong...

Signs of Spring are seen inside my house. Everything outside is now covered in snow. :( Good ole Utah. Once again-love your decorations. I bought dollar store jelly beans for my jars cause the good ones were gone in a day. How ever did you keep yours for 4 years?

Ah, springtime. Puppies, tulips, baby robins...

Well Saucy, I can certainly see why you keep those jelly beans. They are a gorgeous colour.

I just love those sweet puppies, Sophie has beautiful ears and I'm sure they feel just like velvet.

I thought Spring had arrived until we got more Saskatchewan weather again! yikes, when will this end??? love your new seasonal decor, charming. but i did try to bring on spring by going to blossoms and purchasing an outrageous dollar amount on orchids, tulips, little boy flowers and so many other huge, tropical bright things, all in lime green, shades of purple, white or green. LOVE it and in my house I will pretend that has welcomed spring!

join me in our blog for a scrapbook prize giveaway if you are interested. I must give it away, I am beginning to collect scrapbook supplies for home decor!

hate to admit it, but we don't really get seasons in my neck of the woods, so I'm soooo loving your "signs of spring" ... that dragonfly delight looks so yummy! & your Easter decor makes me feel all springy ... but the two babies! could they be any sweeter?!?

That dog is all ears! How adorable. The only sign of spring is that I have dragged the Easter Baskets out of the closet other than that, you know, the weatherman says maybe more snow.

love the Easter decor...pretty soon Sophie could help with the floor sweeping with those adorable ears!

Oh, those puppies!! How cute.

Ah, I love spring, it's by far my favorite. And my favorite decorating and cooking holiday is Easter. i love the colors and the light sunny food (although, I don't think it counts as 'light' if I inhale 500 peanut butter eggs). I just love it.

I better start decorating my house!

Love all your Spring decor'! Had to giggle about the not eating the 4 yr. old jelly beans!! I do that, too (save candy, convo hearts, beans, etc. in plastic baggies from year to year). DH is always asking if he can eat such & such or is it "display food"!!

Big TX Hugs,

That mop is wicked, we definitely need one of those. My grandma has a joke pill bottle filled with jellybeans that are "anti-depressants" and she's had then for almost seven years. I wonder what they taste like now? haha. Those easter bunny things aren't as creepy as the real rabbits with red eyes. They scare me! And puppies! Who doesn't love puppies?!?! I'm in love with Basset Hounds, they always look so sad but so adorable!
