an apology from duke to saucy

Dear Saucy,

I knows hows much I'z dissapoints you. The whole cupcake thing was just too too much. I iz so sorry.

I don't know what comes over me sumtimes. Me just likes your baking too very much, just like Dad. We'z just sit and drool when the smells come frum the kitchun and look at each other and we just can't wait sumtimes. You'ze has no ideas how hardz it gets for us.

So when you turned your backs on them cakes I just sneeked into the kitchun and I wuz just quiet az I could be. And you'ze didn't hear me cuz you were hummin' the Jonus Bruthers with Loopy and she was sprinklin' the sugars on the icings and you'ze weren't payin much attention what with bein' all excited about that party Sassy wuz throwin for Nana over there.

And Buddy Budderson was just playin' with that iPhone and with those white bits in his ear flaps he'z payin no attenshun neither... he's just hummin and dancin and waitn' to licks the bowl and I'z thinkin' why don't I never get to licks the bowl?

It was no bother for me to just reach up and snatch two of them cute cakes and plop 'em on the clean floor and I just thought it wuz a good idea to eat them right out of them paper cups you put'em in cuz you never eat the paper when you eat them up so I thought you'd think I wuz a good boy, leavin' the papers on the floor and just eatin' the cake.

I'z so sorry you had to go to party with just 22 little cakes. Plus that nice frosty bit on the top with all them sprinklies of Loopy's, they just stuck on my whiskers an paws and I know that was the giveaway to my badness. Pluz, the empty papers on the floor.

I iz worried you will make me a nemesis now just like Elisabeth Hasslebeck and Anonymous Blog Flamer and evil archenemy Donnelly. Pleeeze can we make up? Huh?

Lurves,
Dooke

P.S. Now iz a good time to remindz you 'bout me makin that bad guy run away in the night too weeks back when he tried to get inside and it wuz just you an me an Loopy at home. I made him so scared with my barkin' and jumpin and that mad growl and teeth-showin that he high-tailed it right off the porch and ran away into the darkness. Remember how I'z slept by the front door that nights until Veto got home from his bizness trip and I mades yuz so safe... you really shuld remembr thats. I'm just sayin'.

Awww poor Duke! He deserves a cuppycake or two or being so protective!

Plus just look at that face! You can't say no. Saucy could this be inspiration for a doggie friendly cupcake recipe?

Trooper chewed up my fave pink hat that I got in Chicago yesterday. We are also in a terrible fight right now. Maybe I should forgive him.

Saucy, you can't possibly still be mad at him after that post!!

Oh , look at that face , how could he stop himself , I am impressed he stopped with two , psst I once babysat a kid who ate the papers , and she didn't even notice !!!
Now don't you throw that baby in a basket with Elizabeth Hasselbeck now or I will take him as a foster puppy .

Ut Oh..... Duke, you deserve the cupcakes after being such a big, brave guy! I'm betting there will be cupcakes the next time she bakes too!

I'm sure there were two people at the party that didn't need a cupcake. He was just doing his part to help with someone's diet!

Forehead Kisses to you Duke! Love them eyes! The hubby would love a Grey Ghost just like you ; )

I know it's hard to resist those cupcakes, I know. I myself probably couldn't resist one either! The mom should know by now not to leave treats right where you can reach them, soooo ... she must have left them there on purpose! Just for you!

And if it makes you feel any better, our Dalmatian (she passed a few years back) ate my daughters 1st Birthday cake. Dang it!

I agree - Duke should be a guest blogger.

That is so cute! I can't get over the pet talk. I think Duke needs his own blog.... I'd read it.

Just look at his sad sweet face. I would have a hard time resisting those beautiful tempting cupcakes too.

How sweet that he only ate the cupcake and not the papers.

This so happens at our house. When you have 3 dogs nothing is sacred. But ya gotta love their sweet little faces, it is so hard not to forgive. (Unless they way overdid it and get sick-which happens a lot at our house too)

Aw, he even looks sorry! Poor pup! They always seem to know they've done something wrong - my dogs do the same thing - look uber guilty. ;)

Oh, he looks so cute though. What a hero and how scary for you and Loopy. I hope he wasn't sick after eating those.

Yikes, so sorry to hear you had some guy try to get into your house--so good you had Duke there--even if he is a cupcake stealer. Those cupcakes do look fabulous--I'd be a cupcake stealer if I lived in your house :)

Between Loopy and Duke...Saucy better watch out - they do good posts! He's a sweetheart, and who can argue with that logic?! Hope you enjoyed the cuppycake Duke, and come back soon, y'hear?

That is one humbly apologetic pooch! And a bad-guy scar-er-away-er? Have to give him kudos for that!

I'm with Duke. But I would have taken more than two! Yummy and delightful to the eye. What do you expect, silly girl.

Ohhhh, that is adorable! Ya gotta forgive the little 'oppsy'. :o) (I have 3 doggies and understand how much they love us.) You have a very nice blog.
Have a great weekend! ♥ ∞

Duke is adorable. He is a good dog a heart. Please forgive him.

I sleep better in our house when hubby is away cause of my Golden Retriever. He sounds mean through the door.

When he was a puppy, I found him on the dinning room table eating a bowl of pretzels. He has learned better manners but I think those cupcakes would have been to much for him.

Aspergertopia said...

Such a sweet picture of Duke, Saucy!

He has some personality that Duke.

Now please tell me, this is the way he actually talks? (through you anyways). Growing up, all of my animals had a (voice). We used them OFTEN.

I would loooove to know I am not the only one.

Ooooooooh that is so adorable. The photo alone is worthy! You are a talented lady my friend ~ this is the story I'll be thinking about this week when I need a little something funny. Instead I'll be laughing out loud! Have a great day!

Oh dear! He's such a sweet puppy though. How could anyone ever deny that face anything.

All good wishes to Miss Loopy!

Looks like Duke needs one more cupcake. Just for looking so sad and apologetic in that picture lol.

Timi said...

LMOA!!! At least he apologized! Besides that........how can you be mad at the face.
I have a cat that never says he's sorry. He just cuss at me all the time.

Who couldn't love this guy. In fact, I think you should go back into that kitchen and whip him up a bunch of liver brownies. If you don't have the recipe, just let me know and I'll send it to you. My doggies ♥ them!

This little post made me giggle and think of many a birthday party that was foiled by our great dane getting to the cake before the kids did. One year I made individual star shaped little cakes for my daughter and 8 of her friends. After carefully making a barricade in the laundry room of laundry baskets and empty hampers, I neglected to replace abasket moments before the party after removing a pair of pants from the dryer. I came back downstairs to 3 star cakes and a big dog with royal icing encrusted ears.

Awwww so cute! I love when animals know they've done something wrong and then try and suck up with their pitiful eyes. It's hard not to just grab them and hug. Even if they made a giant mess that you have to clean up lol. It's just lucky that he didn't wind up getting sick from it.
