I'm not going to say it was one of my finer decorating efforts but it was delicious. I used the Red Velvet recipe from the More From Magnolia cookbook. I baked the cake in two loaf pans and stacked it. The cake is cloaked with marshmallow fondant but it was too soft to hold the shape of the bag handles, I should have kneaded more confectioners sugar into it, I've never worked with homemade fondant before (I've been a Wilton girl) but I will surely try it again. The bow and the cut out word are gumpaste.

The Fan made this ad.or.ab.le bouquet for Loopy... she's turned into a Dollarama Diva too! So, we're never taking it apart. I'm going to cover it with a drycleaning bag and store it to use outside by the pool in the summer.

When the girls arrived they were seated at the dining room table that was all set up for assembling Juicy Couture-inspired charm bracelets. I served them Amy's pink hot chocolate with a chocolate chunk cookie (with pink m&m's too) and a marshmallow heart.

Every guest had a pail of charms to put on their bracelets. Click on the photo for more deets about each of the Juicy-inspired charms. Thank you so much Sassy for helping out with so many of the gorgeous charms... you are so clever and talented... and generous. The girls were "oohing" and "aahing" over all of the little goodies that you made! The scented bits were a special hit.
Let the toggling begin! At first, it was a little slow going until our jewelers got the hang of things but before long the bracelets were coming together nicely.
Look who finished first... she's a natural crafter. This lovely gal made Loopy the sweetest Juicy-styled birthday card!
Have a look at the finished bracelet. You know, I have enough stuff leftover to create another bracelet like this. Do you think I should do just one more giveaway sometime soon?

The girls were invited to put their finished bracelets into a piece of paper cake! This cute centrepiece was made using dye-cuts at the local scrapbooking store. Sassy spotted this creation and tipped me off for the party. And have I ever mentioned to you that we have the very best scrapbooking store in my city? I used to cajole Veto into taking me to scrapbook stores when we traveled: Chicago, Phoenix, Toronto... you name it. But I was almost always disappointed because our local store is so very better.

Candy necklaces embellished with charms were tucked inside the large cake pieces. They were inspired by these at Nordstrom. Loopy lurrves Nordstrom as much as she lurrves her some Juicy. Check out the detail on the cake: actual Juicy stickers, provided by Sassy. She asked for them when she was in the Juicy store in Vegas... and they gave them to her for our party! Thanks again to Sassy (and G&P!).

Finally, time for the birthday princess to blow out her Dollarama candles and enjoy her cake. I could have never imagined imagine fourteen years ago how much joy a daughter could bring to the world until Loopy came into my life. I hope she had the happiest birthday yet. I love watching her grow up.

Happy birthday, Miss Loopy. Best to you in this new year.
Oh Saucy what a great party! The candy necklaces are a dream, just like the cake, pink hot chocolates/cookies and everything else! Loopy is so lucky to have you! I hope you have a litle energy left for Monday.....there won't be a juicy purse but I do promise tea! Is the Fan OK?
The Fan didn't even get a stitch and she was back at the party in a flash. Thank you for giving her a lift, Sassy! I still think she needed a stitch.

Saucy,
The party looked fab.u.lous. Everything done to perfection. You and your family are the most creative and talented bunch I have ever seen. Your daughter is one lucky young lady. I too noticed the conversation heart charms- what did you finally find to make them work? I'd love to make some to add to mine and my daughter's charm bracelets.
Thanks for sharing the party pics.

Wow it looks like Loopy had a fantastic birthday party! I saw the cake on the Juicy website from your last post and it looked great. My mom tried using fondant for our easter cake and it didn't turn out half as good as yours looks in the picture lol. When I was in Hawaii my sister and I sat and looked at the Juicy charm bracelets for ages and I can't tell the difference between yours and the actual Juicy's haha. And that paper cake. Ya I saw it in pictures before you said it was paper cake and I thought to myself..man that cake looks delicious :\ Now I'm dissapointed to find out its only paper but at the same time thats a pretty realistic paper cake haha.
