new toys

It's just like Christmas around here. For one thing, I still have two trees to take down.... this is the downside of decorating multiple trees. So, while the task of taking the last of the holiday decorations looms over my head, I'm busy trying not to be distracted by:

Reader, I'm cheating on PC with Mac. Our computer heaved its last sigh over the holidays and last night Veto took me to pick out a replacement. I was so smitten with Mac's sleek lines... I just couldn't resist. You might even say Veto introduced us. We brought him home last night and everyone has been giggly and giddy since. Do you remember when I chose PC over Mac? I.take.that.back.

The timing is unreal. Look what arrived today. Now how am I EVER going to get any work done around here?

Your toys make me green with envy, although I've been lucky in the electronics department so I'm shutting up now.

(Trees, Saucy? Now? That would drive me mad. You're a better woman than me.)

A Mac AND a Cannon? Well aren't you lucky! Talk about Christmas all over again! Put those trees away and pick up that camera! There's work to be done.

I happened upon your blog and it's amazing. Your talent is remarkable and I'm blown away by your creativity. I live in Texas now but spent much of my childhood in Calgary so it was fun to read some mentions of familiar places. Thanks for the inspiring blog.

A new camera, and a new computer? You must be in heaven! Leave the trees up for next year!

Congrats on crossing over! I hear that once you go Mac, PC just isn't the same anymore.

Dang--tossing the PC over for a Mac...I wouldn't have thought that of you, Saucy;)
I wouldn't post either if I had so many new toys to play with.

I took all our decorations down 2 days after Christmas. I love the build-up to it, but once it is done, I am done. But, I also didnt have multiple trees, just a ton of snowman. 8 Rubbermaid 55 gallon bins full of Snowmen.

I am so afraid to make the leap from PC to Mac. Hubby got a new Dell and he now wants a Mac. I will keep the Dell and mess with his Mac until I know if I like or not. Change FREAKS.ME.OUT.

I cannot wait to see what you do with that new camera.

Welcome to the world of iMac. Hope it is a smoother transition than mine was!

You'll be able to do so much "damage" with that new camera too! How exciting for you!

You are a lucky lucky girl. But we are lucky too because we know you will continue to share your talents with us! Or at least we are hoping you will :)

I was so surprised when you said that you liked PCs over Macs since the more creative people tend to go for the latter. My husband has always been a Apple lover and has converted me. Photography is a hobby of his, and he loves working with aperture. The other people are right, you'll never want to go back!

Oh my, forget the trees, play with your awesome new toys! One year I hired the neighborhood kids to take down my tree and decorations (had just had surgery). I just relaxed and read my book while my husband provided supervision for the project. Maybe you could hire someone to worry about the tree stuff so you can enjoy your camera and computer.

I have always wanted a MAC but my daughter thinks that we wouldn't get along. That camera looks wonderful. I have been seriously thinking of getting a better one. I want Zoom. Lots and lots of zoom! I seriously don't know how you are going to be getting any work done. I would just want to play too.

Congrats! I got the same camera for Christmas and still trying to figure things out, quite the step up from the little digital one I had. Maybe all the owners of this fine camera should get together and figure it out together!?? I'd like to learn more about the lense, Leica. I do remember Sassy gushing over it!

As for future tutorials ~ I'm interested in a shopping list for the sushi cupcakes, it looks like a lot of goodies to collect!

We are due for a new computer in this house andI have been wondering about a Mac. Having never used anything but a PC I am wondering if I would like it. My daughter and I have that same camera and we love them. Santa brought her an external flash and a zoom this year. I hope she will share with dear old Mom.

I was just re-reading this post. My friend, Kim (who has a blog), also has a Rebel and loves it.

I am also smirking as I recall vividly your position on the Mac versus pc debate I had on my blog when I was looking to buy a laptop. In retrospect, I wish I had purchased a Mac instead of an Acer

However, the problem with Mac that I've encountered is that it is virtually impossible to print just 1 particular page of a multi-paged pdf file. Mac support staff told me that the computer has to take "a picture" of the page. Here the pc beats out the Mac. In this case, I plug in my pc laptop, hook it up to the printer and will print out the page. Silliness. Absolute silliness.

I just got the same camera for Christmas! I"m so stoked to see what you do with it so that I can learn ;)

Geeze, I'm ecstatic because a very good friend just got the same camera as you and he gave me is old cannon rebel and I'm in heaven. I even requested some photog. classes as a birthday gift and start next week.

Maybe when I "prove" myself worthy, I can move up in camera ranks and justify the purchase of brand-spanking new one;)
