lovely things

Well it appears that The Secret Weapon has an admirer... Rosa sent a package of Chinese tea for our resident connoisseur and we were all just thrilled! You know I will be right there when he opens it and I'll have a sample as well. Thank you Rosa, what a thoughtful gesture! If you've not visited her blog, Rosa attends cooking classes and posts wonderful recipes... and she has the most amazing travel adventures!

Before I take the Christmas trees down, I would like to share a very special ornament that The Fan found for me this year after the awful crash of the "wedding tree"... check this out: a glass version of the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City, where Veto and I were engaged! I was dumbstruck when I opened the package! I think I had a little tear in my eye but let's keep that between us, shall we? Trust The Fan to get busy and find such a treasure.

Today Veto and I are speeding down the highway towards Calgary for Loopy's orthodontic appointment. It will just be a quick overnight tri
p. Buddy Budderson wanted so badly to come along but was unable to get the time off work... he is disappointed because he wanted a little family road trip more than anything.

Hopefully we will be able to swing by our very favourite shopping spot: Honey B's in the Kensington district. It's chock-full of gorgeous vintage finds and giftware. Loopy almost always finds something she adores while we're there. You must visit if you get to Calgary. Major eye candy.

I am so happy you received the SW's gift. I know you had mentioned how he liked monkey tea. This is so healthy for you, I'm happy to pass it on. I only wish it had been received for Christmas! The USPS said it should get there in time. Famous last words! Customs probably had a time with it, for sure. Enjoy in good health my friends! Happy New Year once more! (Thank you for your kind words too. xo)

How was your laundry countertop turned into a laundry board? Where do you store your dirty laundry? Thanks

That reminds me....gotta get Opera Diva to the orthodontist to fix her retainer......can't eat a thing because the wire is cutting her tongue every time she takes a bit of anything.

Never been to your suggested shopping spot but it sounds wonderful. I'll try remember next time I'm in Calgary. Where are you living? How far from Calgary?

What a gorgeous ornament and such a special reminder of a big moment in your life. I love things like this. We collect special memorabilia for our tree, too, and even have a golf cart key ring with the actual key from the cart we drove for the golf tournament we hosted the morning of our wedding. We didn't take the key, by the way, someone in our group did and presented it to us.

Hi there. I just found you through Southern Girl's Blog.
That photo of the tea is a gorgeous and welcome eyeful! The ornament is like a little faerie house!
Canada! How I love the idea of visiting... I'd love to take the rail all the way across. Old fashioned, I guess.

From the Sunny South,
Candace

I know you had more than just one tear in your eye Saucy! How sweet of her :)

I hope that Loopy wasn't in too much pain after her appointment. I used to hate getting them tightened... ugh.

Oh Amy, your love stories of baby always make me cry. You are an angel of love...your aura must be among the brightest! (did you see Oprah yeserday? it was about a man who survived a plane crash and watched many people parish. He said he could see the glow/aura/light leaving the bodies some bright others not so bright, a moving story that has stuck in my mind for hours)
hugs,
Sassy
