a tale of two trees

The tree is up in our living room. This is it... partway decorated. I still have one Rubbermaid storage container of mercury glass ornaments to try to fit on it while I watch The Tudors tonight.

All of the crazy glittered picks and sticks I used on the top are from... you guessed it... Dollarama. I'm sort of off traditional tree toppers around here and like the picks n' sticks.

The tree is also up in The Fan's living room. I did it up for her last week, but with a topper:

I topped it with a sweet little peacock feather wreath from Winners, some swirly feathers and a mask from... Dollarama.

This tree is a jumble of two themes we have collected over the years... sparkling jewels and peacock feathers and the like.

I painted and glittered the peacock pattern on these ornaments a couple of years back:

Tomorrow: a charm bracelet tutorial... because you pretty much asked for it.

Beautiful. Our big tree is up, but isn't decorated yet. Can't wait for the tutorial tomorrow. I'm wondering if you make your charm bracelets or buy them.

I love your trees, they are gorgeous. I wish my camera worked because I would love to post mine. As odd as it seems I thought of you when it went up (odd how blogs make you think of someone like that). It's all white and sparkly filled with family ornaments and a ton of pink girly stuff to tie it together, topped with a dollar tree tiara.

I think that you have the most amazing trees I have ever laid eyes on!!

It looks like you found a flocked tree? Or did you end up doing it yourself?

I love that you cram on so many ornaments. I spend days and days and days putting on more and more ornaments. I think most people don't use nearly enough ornies.

Our tree is a midnight blue/teal/green combo. I will be adding a few feathers this year for sure.

Beautiful trees. As always everything looks so stylish. I really love the peacock feathers, although after too many cocktails over christmas Id probably end up doing a 'turn' a la Cyd Charisse with them.....Oeeer! X

Wow--that's a divine tree. Can you schedule a little makeover here in Wisconsin? Mine is looking pretty punky (and bottom heavy thanks to my short decorating team) compared to that!

Gosh! It looks just gorgeous. I love it. I can't believe you hand painted those peacock designs on those ornaments. WOW. You just keep on amazing me. I wish I lived near you, we could decorate together and it would be truly fabulous time.
