just say spahh

Even though we still have a few things to do, Loopy and I took the day off. And I mean we.took.this.day.off. We slept in. We ate breakfast in bed. We listened to our iPods and read. Our excuse is that we both are suffering from colds. Is it possible to catch a cold from surfing blogs?

Then, we had a two-hour nap. Sorry to rub it in, we really did. While the rest of the world was out in traffic, cramming in last-minute errands, we were curled up in bed together, snoozing. When we woke up we decided to pamper ourselves a little more while we enjoyed our tea. We used the last of our Evian facial products:

We scrubbed and polished our little feet:

We soaked them in our bubbly foot massaging soaker thingy. And if you still have no idea what to get someone for a Christmas gift, consider a paraffin wax spa. The wax heats up and you dip your feet and hands in it. After you peel off the wax, your warm feet are soft and smooth. Yes, we did this too. It felt so good and warm, especially knowing that it is -37 degrees outside.

On the weekend, we saw Four Christmases starring Reese Witherspoon (America's sweetheart) and Vince Vaughn (Saucy's secret celebrity sweetheart). It was light, fun adult fare (whoops, we took Loopy to see it) but very enjoyable and it put us into the holiday spirit. Veto hates holiday movies but he suffered through this show for me, just like Fred Claus last year... another Vince-Vaughn-starring-as-Vince-Vaughn classic.
Oh, that Reese Witherspoon is just so cute and that Vince Vaughn is just such a tall and sassy drink of water, you can't go too terribly wrong... but it's not Academy Award material of course. I'm giving it three and a half fruitcakes out of five because it's the holidays, after all.

I'm rolling truffles and making Caribbean rum balls tnite, wow...this is my first attempt at truffles, John is busy licking his fingers after a premature bite into one. Gahhh...

Hope you two feel better very soon!
I miss hearing from you~

We went to see Four Christmas on our Anniversary weekend, I love Vince Vaughn. Yummy. It wasn't half bad, I laughed so hard when they went to visit his dads. Oh my...

Merry Christmas Doll-face!

I'm glad you took a breather. Good for you.

I like Four Christmases just because I love Vince and Reese, and really: a silly holiday movie sometimes is all I need.

Feel better soon.

What a fun day you had! The place where I get pedicures used to use the wax on your feet, and it was wonderful! They still use it for manicures, and boy could I use it for my super dry hands! Stay warm, and have a Merry Christmas!

Sorry...I deleted my comment cause my daughter has taken over my computer and my comment appeared as from Becky. Too confusing. I will try again. Yeash!

I want to go and see Marley and Me. Hubby volunteered to go. What a sweetheart. It is not his type of movie. He likes action adventure and somehow I don't think an out of control dog is going to cut it.

Take care of those colds. Stay inside. It is freaking cold out there!

Womanscaping is essential in the healing process. It starts with looking good in spite of the Rudolph noses. A little toddy helps too, although it may contribute to the Rudy nose. LOL!

Vince is either super tall or Reese is super short. Wow.

Sounds like you had a great day off!

You sure know how to take a day off:)

That sounds like just the day I need. It figures that I would get sick as soon as my break starts! I can't complain too much though, it's gotten me out of some laundry :)

I'm jealous of your nappage!

I also just went to see "Four Christmases" & agree with your expert analysis. They really ought to just start making movies called, "(Fabulous) Vince Vaughn Playing Vince Vaughn" and leave it at that.

I've enjoyed visiting you and your blog and look fordward to 2009! Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year to you and your family!

You deserve a break like that. You've done enough holiday work for all of us. Hope you feel better soon.

It's good to take a day off every once in a while and just focus on you! But I've done that a bit much, now it's time to work. So I'm sitting here at my desk, reading your blog and listening to new music :) The MIL and I really want to go see 4 Christmases. Looks like fun. Merry Christmas Sassy!

Yes, you can suffer from blogs...I have the same issue myself.

Also, pls ask Veto what the heck with our Packers last night. Could you hear the OH NOOOOOOO screams up in Canada?

Merry Christmas Saucy!!!!

Good for you. We all need to take a day off, especially when we have yucky colds. Sounds like just the thing to do. I saw Fred last year but haven't made it out to see the new one with Reese (our hometown girl here in Brentwood/Nashville). I didn't know Evian had a line. Gotta stick with you gf, you know it all! Ho ho ho. and hope you both feel better soon.

Sounds like MY KIND OF DAY! Tomorrow is our first day off from school, (nothing like waiting until the last minute!) This is my dream day and I pink girl and I will plan one of these during the school break. You give me permission right? Have a beautiful Christmas!

I wonder if the Doodlebug would enjoy a spa day tomorrow...I know Daisy would.
It's to precarious out there right now & we can't get anywhere without crossing a bridge - and I'd rather take my chances in our local mall area den than with all the really smart drivers of this town right now ;}
Merry Christmas!
