charm bracelet tutorial

You know what I mean when I say the finest store in town... Dollarama. Because you will be adding so much stuff to the bracelet, it doesn't really matter what you start with.
Like Sassy says, pliers save our manicures.

Did I mention you should get LOTS?

Sassy taught me that trick!

For more information on how our charm party worked, visit Sassy here. She posted a video! Everyone will be able to see my puffy prednisone face, so go have a look.

Ummm... very important... part of the "charm" of this project is that when it is finished it is chock-full of goodies to look at for hours on end. Remember the Halloween bracelets?

If you want more details on each of the charms, visit my flickr photos here, here or here. I have labeled the bracelets with notes and that might help you locate the goods and give you more ideas.

If you would like to WIN one of our fabulous Halloween charm bracelets for 2009, click here to comment and enter before 11:59 CST on October 2, 2009!  Good luck!

Well Sassy you know that at the best of times I can be... moody! The meds have me off my rocker, I think all those commercials on TV are sentimental craziness!

You make it look so easy!! Now, I want to make one for every one of my girlfriends, sisters, and daughters! And then of course, a fabulous one for myself. You have inspired me! And because of you, I now always have the weekly coupon with me when I shop at Michaels (never pay full price, right?).

Hi again Saucy :)

I had a great time catching up with you. Those charm bracelets are darling. I'll try to make one soon :)

The trees at your house and the one you did for The Fan are fabulous!

I read about the tests and since you didn't say more about it, I'm hoping everything is okay.

hugs,

My Hubby has had to take medications that are related to yours. He was happy and invincible with intermittent cloudy spells and a round face. :)

Thanks for the charm instruction. You answered the question of how to find such cute things to put on the bracelet. Now I too can be charming.

Incredible what you find and make!!! As far as the meds- you look perfect and beautiful to me. I hope you get better soon!

Is Dollarama a dollar store or closer to Walmart because all of my dollar stores have crap.
Your tute is great, by the way. How did Sassy scent her sculpey charms?

I have a computer!! Plus a tutorial!! Thanks for this! If you kept tags, I could find it easier! This would be a great craft for K and N in a few years! What fun ideas!!

Ok, call me crazy, but I think that you should make a themed charm bracelet that goes with each of your trees... wouldn't it be sweet to have one to remind you of your wedding?

Thanks for the tip :)

Angela, you GENIUS! A Wedding bracelet!? How smart. I'm on it now.

I found some more replacements for my wedding tree ornaments that fell today.... some doughnuts at Urban Outfitters. I might slip in for one or two more, they are on sale.

Making these little bracelets is time consuming because you have to spend the better part of a year searching for the goodies to put on it but gosh, it is worth it in the end.

Okay this is going to be for the 12th birthday party. I ransacked Claire's for 70% off holiday earings in January and purchased lots, did I mention lots, of split rings. Found the split rings too difficult to use, so have bought lots of jump rings. My question is how do you go about replacing the original clasp with the toggle clasp? This is another hint to my secret identity - I am so not crafty, but my daughter sure is. I turn to you for inspiration.

Aw I love Sassy's little charms, especially the gingerbread man with the googly eyes. Another great tutorial. On another note: I love Dollarama, they always seem to have what I need, especially for making Halloween costumes which I take super seriously haha.

what dollar store are YOU shopping at because i've never seen charm bracelets at ours. and i've asked... seriously, tho. i've been looking for some cheap charm bracelets. please let me know. thanks!

Saucy said...

Sweet T, if you are in Canada, you need to shop at Dollarama... it's the best dollar store in the world. Name brand items for one dollar! The charm bracelets there are fantastic and all metal! As good as any bracelet you get at Michaels for ten dollars, maybe better.

Otherwise, check Walmart or get creative and buy an inexpensive necklace on sale and cut it into 7.5 or 8" pieces. I've done that and then added toggles or clasps... do you have a Claire's where you live? The sale rack there is great!

Sweet T said...

thanks for the reply! i'll check Claire's. unfortunately, not in Canada.. in Texas. =)

I love charm bracelets because you can design them however you want- and add any type of trinket you can find to a charm bracelet.
