we're into it

I'm into cookie making mode right now. I made these candy corn sugar cookies with the recipe that Martha sent to my inbox last week. Does Martha send you thirty emails a day? I decided to try some of the recipes... this one is pretty cute. I'm into it.

Loopy is into pepekura... a form of Japanese paper crafting. Not quite like origami, it is creating tree dimensional characters from paper using downloaded templates. It's painstaking work but Loopy lurrves it. Most of the characters are of the Japanese anime sort but she has also found characters from The Simpsons and Family Guy online. She has a computer software program that will generate her ideas into pepekura form for crafting. Check out the Hello Kitty she is working on right now!

I am totally into Air Wick scented oil refills... it has to be Mandarin Green Tea scent. I am so hooked, when it wasn't on the shelf at Safeway... or Wal Mart... or Superstore... I worried that it was discontinued. I found it at Shoppers Drug Mart and stocked up! Now I'm buying ahead, just in case... that's how bad I've got it for this not-perfumy, delicate clean citrus scent.

We got a free sample of Bare Escentuals Buxom Lipgloss at Sephora... went back this weekend to purchase some... a gift box of it in fact. Loopy and I have decided it is the perfect mix of Carmex and lip colour. It plumped our lips without making them feel tingly and weird. It has a nice, not overpowering minty flavour. We love the neutral colours.

I found some of this L.A.M.B. body lotion at Winners... is is scrumptious. You know I'm addicted to body lotion, right? Morning, noon and night. I've always been into body lotion.

Harajuku Lovers fragrance, also by Gwen Stefani. Five different scents... which one to choose? Love? Lil' Angel? Music? Baby? Do you recall when I dressed Loopy and three friends as the Harajuku Girls for Halloween? Okay, I admit... I want this fragrance because of the cute bottle. Plus, then I could attempt a Loopy photo shoot like this:

How do you think they did that hair? I'll figure something out and get back to you. If you have any ideas, let me know. I am so into it.

The final item on my IN LIST... the signature hot chocolate at Starbucks right now, the Salted Caramel. The salt mixed with the caramel gives such a nice salty'n sweet combo to my cocoa that I cannot get enough. Hot chocolate is usually too sweet for me, but this is so yummy.

Go ahead, indulge yourself this week. What's on your IN list?

Oh... and guess what? That nifty gift basket that I put together for my neices? I dropped it in the driveway when Loopy and I arrived at Veto's mother's house. Orange and brown soda, red shredded basket stuffer, broken glass and candy eyeballs, all over the pavement. It was a grisly sight, indeed.

I am craving one of those salted caramel hot chocolates now. Yummy! I'm into my old navy watermelon mint lipgloss. It wakes me up when I put it on. I'm also into organix coconut milk shampoo. It's helping me keep the beach around as the weather starts to cool.

I can always count on you for my daily entertainment and inspiration. I've been saving a Starbucks gift card and I adore carmel. I also have realized that I have a favorite candy for every holiday. Candy Corn happens to be mine for Halloween and I will be making those cookies.

Sorry about your basket Saucy, it was the thought that counts! If it makes you feel any better I dropped a $11 watermelon on the steps once!

My big obsession right now is Scentsy...they are wickless candles...I love them! By the way, I tried to send you an email, and for some reason my Antivirus keeps stopping it...do you have another email address? Or, could you email me and then I could respond to that? I made a Digital Scrapbook layout of some pictures of Loopy that I would like to send you. Thanks!

Martha sends you emails? I signed up for several daily emails from Martha and she doesn't send me ANY! Dang that Martha Stewart ... playing favorites!

My younger daughter would love pepekura! We'll have to look into that!

How I WISH we had a Sephora nearby. The closest one is about 50 minutes away : (

Nice post Saucy!

Oh I love the new gwen perfume! So do my daughters. I snuck over to Nordstroms and bought a big bottle of G for my older daughter's 11th B-day (and bought a small bottle for myself because I love it so much I just knew when she gets it I'd end up sneaking sprays of it!) I'm thinking about getting the solid ones for stocking stuffers for both of them! I just love your blog by the way!!! I check it daily! Stacey

I'm sorry to hear about your goody basket! But, it was still fab, even floating down the driveway. I didn't know about Gwen's Harajuku's fragrance. I have one of her original LAMB bags which I use as my travel purse because it carries everything and has a strap that goes about my should like a mail bag! Only thing is, I ripped one of the straps off in London getting off the tube!!! (I now have it pinned.) Let's see, my in list. Old fashioned Jergens original scent moisturizer slathered on my arms and hands, pedi egg on my feet (everything is getting so dry on my bod!) and of course, I'll have to go and try that salted caramel at Bucks. I normally treat myself to a Dunkin Doughnuts coffee a couple of times a week. Bucks is a tad bitter for me.

I don't really get Harajuku but I love that hairstyle! The Starbucks thing reminded me that somewhere I have a recipe for a chocolate tart sprinked with sea salt - now I have to go search for it...

I only get 3 or 4 e-mails a day from Martha. I had to scale back. Everything on your list looks yummy. Since I am a carmex fanatic and that makes it hard to really appreciate any other lip stuff I would love to try that lip gloss. Thanks for the heads up! Happy Thanksgiving!

I can defintely see Miss Loopy with the Gwen Stefani little girl thingies in her hair! So cute! And yum on the candy corn - I like the kind with chocolate on the bottom!

Ohhh, sorry about the gift basket!
Our INs are Lush bath bombs & bubble bars. Caramel Apple Spice from Starbucks, Dove soap (kind of boring but I love it and their "Real Beauty" campaign), Chocolate Fling lip colour by Avon and we dream that Starbucks will bring back the Chantico.

I give props to any woman willing to undertake one of Martha's recipes. I've never had the right ingredients on hand to do so!

That hot chocolate sounds quite yummy. Hmmm...my in list includes a new smell by our local eco-candle company--Homesick. And apples. And all the orange/brown/red/yellow outside. the world glows in fall!

OMG! That hot cocoa is to die for. Just had one this last weekend and it was heaven. I was thinking that I should put salt on my cocoa at home...yummy!

I agree, the candy corn is mostly for looks. It's kind of sweetly yucky if you eat it. Buddy Budderson picked the candy off the cookies. Hmph!

I totally agree about Dove soap (ALWAYS) and the "Real Beauty" campaign, I took Loopy to it last year and it was awesome! Must get my mitts on that Avon Chocolate liplgoss...

... and is it just me or do we think the "salt" on the cocoa at Starbucks is some sort of sugar/salt mixture?

I once saw the owner of "Baked" make a chocolate cake recipe on Martha's show that was a sweet and salty cake. They used salt to sprinkle on top... odd, but I think it would be the same type of idea as the hot cocoa - might be a fun mix to create for Christmas presents.

Ohhh....look... a quick search and I found it here: http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/sweet-and-salty-cake?autonomy_kw=sweet%20and%20salty%20cake&rsc=header_2

The hair? Looks part and poof sweep in the front, then two knot pig tails and maybe elastic holders made with silk or paper flowers. If you had some of the little dolls you could put them on clips or pins, and slip them in.
