Quick - get the last of the flowers from the garden and put them in the powder room! Use Martha's very own trick of arranging them in a toothbrush holder, it works every time!

What will I serve her? This is a conundrum... I make so many of her recipes. Do you remember when I made my nephew the baked potato sundae? How utterly adorable.

Or the time I made all of those cute potted-plant cakes for Mother's Day gifts? When Martha tries something, I try it too.

Surely I should make her some of my own famous cupcakes, like the ones I made James Taylor. Celebrities lurrve my cupcakes.

I can't decide. The stakes are too high. It's getting cooler outside so I am craving comfort food at any rate. I'll make her my famous homemade mac and cheese. Loopy adores it.
Saucy's Famous Homemade Mac and Cheese
3 cups pasta (penne or macaroni)
1/4 cup butter (real butter please)
1/4 cup flour
3 cups warm milk
pinch of salt
fresh ground pepper
3 cups shredded medium or old (sharp) cheddar cheese,
plus 1/2 cup for topping
croutons or bread crumbs
Prepare the pasta according to cooking directions.
Melt butter. Add flour; cook and stir 3 to 4 minutes. Gradually whisk in the warm milk and cook, stirring constantly over medium heat until thickened. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper. Stir in cheese until melted. Add cooked pasta and toss to coat.
Pour into a lightly buttered oven-safe dish. Sprinkle liberally with croutons or bread crumbs and the remainder of the shredded cheddar.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes until the topping is melted and browned.
Well, that should do it. I hope she likes it. It's certainly not the fanciest dish that I make, but I was feeling for it and it's always a crowd pleaser. I wonder if she remembers that I sent her a resume years ago when she started her magazine? I don't want to seem stalker-ish but I've been reading her blog since she started it... I'm so glad I got my new banner up over the weekend, this place of mine is spruced right up!
Check in tomorrow for a fabulous giveaway to celebrate our time as inspired friends!

Ah! You are the little Martha Mini-me! Except you now have bangs! Why did you go get that haircut?! Why now? I hope it doesn't skew the Mini-Martha-me effect! LOL!
Drat! You're right... I even had her haircut until a week ago. Now of course I have haircut regret!
You ALWAYS look great Saucy and so does your blog! Mc Dreamy and I leave for Florida (Orlando) on Saturday...know any good places to shop or visit?
Saucy, I laugh how much we have in common! I'll be right on your heals with the Martha Stewart thing! Would that not be the ultimate job???
Oh for the love of cupcakes!! When I marry Jack Black I'm puting you on cupcakes. Martha will adore you.
I'm sure Martha will feel as welcome here as the rest of us do!

Dear Saucy,
Martha will love your blog, your cupcakes and your mac! I think you are more fun than Martha. Plus you have the Fan.
Toothbrush holder for flowers is a great idea. I am off to the thrift store to find a few! Thanks!
Love your header!
You and Loppy are the best Mother/daughter team. Would the Fan dress up??? Three generations of fun! I think Martha would be soooo jealous.
Your hair cut is fun. Bangs do grow out...it just takes awhile.
I have never gone to Martha's blog...will pop over and just see what she's all about.
Hugs,
Sherry

If anything, Martha MIGHT be a little intimidated by you, Saucy. You beat her at her own game, IMHO.

Look out Martha...here comes saucy!!!
Check out my blog I made a little something for you and posted a pic!
I first thought, "Wow, and your blog looks great" too! You're so creative, and so is Miss Loopy too. Martha will be so impressed. Pretty soon, I'll be seeing the both of you in one of those tutorials on her website, teaching the world how to make a Zombie Jar. I love that idea. I'm going to try to make one!
good move Saucy! I am sure that she will love it... maybe you should put up a posting of two of your favorite crafty/ creative things that you have done on this blog... like a summary or a photo collage? That is sure to grab MSLO's attention!!
