michael buble's cupcakes

On Friday night, Veto took Loopy, The Fan and I to see Michael Buble in concert. Let's all sigh a collective sigh of contentment, shall we? Sigh....

I don't just think it's because he's Canadian, but it helps. I think I luff him. To tell the truth, I expected him to be a little cocky. That could be for one of two reasons: one, he came off a little like that in an interview I saw once, and two, well... Canadians generally think that any Canadian who makes it big is probably cocky. Then we turn our backs on them. So you see, Celine Dion had to go to Las Vegas. We just weren't nice to her anymore. We seem like really nice people, but we're not really that nice to each other. I come from the same city as Joni Mitchell, and if you ask people around here what they think of her and they say she's over-rated. She went all crazy and famous and never came back, that's what they think.

Back to Michael Buble... I do luff him, for now. He was cute, funny and sincere. He seemed genuinely happy to be playing a small arena. He looked good in his suit. What more does a fella have to do, except channel Frank Sinatra, to earn five out of five cupcakes... and maybe even some extra sprinkles for lookin' so good?

I've already heard that it was a great concert from someone who travelled to Toontown to see it! Glad the 4 of you got to see it! I love big band/swing music!

I don't know who this guy is. But five out five? I'll have to got to itunes and search out a few of his songs.

I left a comment on your last post, but it disappeared. I asked you if The Fan has a blog. She left a lovely comment on mine and I would like to reciprocate. I thought I should make the effort since we are future inlaws...what with the arranged marriage and all.

I almost had tickets for it this past week. Tuesday I think? J. cleaning lady at work offered a pair to him, but I was sick and working and in no condition for the long boring three hour ride to Calgary. Glad to hear it was a fun concert. I think he would be rather dreamy, in that 1950s kind of way. Did you swoon? I think I definitely would have swooned.

We aren't really all that mean, just not that appreciative of Canadians that make it "big"... it's a cultural phenomenon. Everyone talks about it.

Also, during concerts, Canadians mostly sit politely and clap... no frenzied, crazed appreciation. Even Michael Buble commented on it. We're famous for lackluster audience-interaction up here. But the crowd on Friday went the extra mile, some people even stood up, he seemed blown away!

If you haven't heard of him, check out his album "Call Me Irresponsible" or his hit single, "Home"... so great.

Oh my god he was good wasn't he? I seen him one time on Rachel Ray, and couldn't believe how funny he was, so i wondered if that is what he would be like in concert! So funny, so charming, such a good entertainer, and so darn cute, and an amazing singer! When he comes back I am going for sure!

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! I agree, Micheal Buble is just adorable. Hopefully he'll retain his lovely Canadian-ness and not get too big for his britches (as we say down here).

Now, if I could actually eat those cupcakes while looking at that lovely picture... that would be my heaven. Oh yeah-- and his music is great, too. :)

Well, I suppose that explains Joni Mitchell's song, "California"! LOL!

I haven't heard much of Michael Buble's music, but I did enjoy one song, that I recently heard on someone's blog. Something about "wanting to go home".
