Yes, I'm a Tigers fan... but when they're out, they're out... and a girl has to stick to a team right 'til the end... preferably in the AL. And so, I declare myself a proud member of Red Sox Nation.
I've compiled a playlist for my iPod for my pregame routine, which includes putting out peanuts and Cracker Jack, getting the hotdogs and beverages ready and putting on my hat. I think I need a jersey this year.
"Dirty Water" by The Standells
"Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond
"Boston Red Sox Super Polka" by Happy Louie's Polka Band
"Tessie" by The Dropkick Murphies
"Theo Epstein" by The Boston Baseball Band
"Take Me Out to the Ballgame" by Harry Carry
"I Love Baseball" by Steve Vozollo and the Rookies
"Centerfield" by John Fogerty
"You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet" by Boston
"No Pedro, No Nomar, No Lowe" by The Royal Rooters
"As We Walk to Fenway Park in Boston Town" by Jonathon Richman
"Finally Next Year" by Ides of March
"Second Best" by Steve Wynn
"Moonshot Manny" by Joe Pernice
I've tried to include the best baseball songs I could think of... did I miss anything? Yes, I could find better ways to spend my time, but man, it's October.

We were just talkin' about AL vs NL last night. I was pulling for my sweet Lou, but when they lost, I switched back to my AL, and pulled for Cleveland. My guys are pulling for the Rockies. It's an appealing team, because of their youngsters and the low payroll, but I just can't. I'm an AL girl too. I guess I've joined the "nation". Maybe. It's soooo hard for me to pull for Boston. LOL!
This is a fun list. Thanks.
I love the games of October, too. Your preparations sound like such fun. My team of choice is always the underdog team--if there is such a thing. The team that's behind is the one I always root for--I'm weird, that's for sure.
Huh? People are still playing baseball? I'm going to have to blog about my aversion to sports...
Being from Akron, Ohio, I'm an Indians fan but now that we're out of the running, I'm rootin' for the Red Sox... then we can say we were beat by the World Series Champs! Good Luck!
PS Love your play list~ we had an Opening Day party for the residents in the nursing home I work at and used some of those songs. You're missing Cleveland Rocks though! ;)
I know you saw that game last night. What a game. I just hope they don't get this false sense of security and blow it. My honey has always been a huge RS fan, inherited from his grandpa. Here's to game 2, cheers!
I love baseball. I love summer. I love the series...but it means the end of summer, so I sort of dread that last game 'cuz then it's all over, baby. As long as the boys are playin', it's summer.
And despite the fact that I'm Irish, I'm rootin' for the Rockies.(I rooted for the Sox when they had their incredible run at the series before, though!) I liked 'em better with Johnny Damon, anyway....how COULD he? ;o)
Oh, and Fogerty's 'Centerfield'? All-time BEST baseball song! (Best baseball movie? Gotta' be 'Fever Pitch' just because of the real ending!)
Great list of baseball songs.
Red Sox here too.

one word: SPANKING. ouch.
Yes it was a SPANKING! It proves that God must hate the Yankees now, too. It would have been nice to have seven games and still win, though!
