the great italian birthday feast

We had an excellent birthday party for Buddy last night. Everyone was there. We had the world's largest lasagna, caeser salad, rustic bread, tiramisu, and limoncello. Aunty brought bruchetta (of which there was none left instantly) and Evan requested carrot cake as well so of course he got it. He enjoyed having everyone there with him to celebrate his big day and of course now he is thinking about driving by himself. But for now, he is still my little boy and we had a great evening.

Finally, finally! After ten long days, our dear Buddy has returned from Italy. The change in him is palpable. He is so grown up, aside from the fact that this is his 16th birthday... hard to believe that a mere sixteen years ago this night, I was swearing like a drunken sailor on leave - at the wallpaper store because my special order nursery border was not in yet!! Here he is as a young man exploring the world without me... *sigh*
